The Marine Growth Programme formed a key part of the Plymouth and South West Peninsula City Deal between January 2014 and February 2015.

The £363k project utilised £242k of City Deal funding to blend marine sector knowledge with learning from beyond the sector.

The programme offered subsidies against both onsite and offsite training programmes to 25 businesses.

These included courses in leadership for senior managers, leadership for supervisors, procurement, project management, lean manufacturing, sales & marketing and six sigma.

The scheme created 38 jobs, exceeding its target of 25. In addition, 20 individuals gained new qualifications.
